Nylon Hot Melt Yarn Knitting Fabric is a stretch fabric with easy styling properties that combines low-melt fibers and elastane. Available in multiple levels of stretch and hold, the fabric can meet a variety of functional needs without sacrificing feel, clarity, and speed of production.
The preferred level of low-melt fiber in the fabric is between about 1% and about 55%. It is hidden inside the fabric itself and does not appear on the surface of the fabric, thus avoiding the unpleasant sheen and rubbery feel that some traditional textile fibers produce after the heat activation process.
Some fabric constructions with low-melt fibers include circular knits and warp knits. These structures are formed from coated knits in which low-melt fibers are coated with elastic and rigid fibers to form stich loop structures. After heat activation, the low-melt fiber melts and fuses with adjacent fibers, bonding the elastic and rigid fiber sections together, thus preventing yarn slippage and ladder resistance.
